The credit union’s last day of serving members at the Whitehouse West branch will be August 4th. The office is closing due to Merck’s facility consolidation plan.

The credit union has proudly served members from this facility since 2000. “We understand this closure will cause some member inconvenience and encourage members to use nearby shared branches, ATMs and also to explore our robust set of new online services,” said MEFCU President Paul Gentile.

Since COVID emerged, the credit union has brought many more services online that allow members to better service their accounts remotely. Members can visit https://www.merckcu.com/services/online-account-services/ where they can do many account maintenance functions that previously required in-person or mail transactions. Members also have full access to their accounts via online and mobile banking and are encouraged to utilize services such as Mobile Deposit to conveniently deposit checks into the credit union from their mobile device.

The two ATMs at the Whitehouse site will also be removed as part of the consolidation. The nearest MEFCU ATM is at the Branchburg location at 3070 US-22 W, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Members can locate other available ATMs and shared branches by clicking here, entering an address and choosing the option for either a shared branch location or ATM location.
