Membership in Merck Employees Federal Credit Union is a coveted benefit offered to an exclusive group.
The credit union has stayed true to its mission of serving its core sponsor group of Merck.
This commitment to our roots does limit who can join the credit union and ensures our "common bond" with our sponsor stays true. There is one very important and exciting nuance to our membership limits--family members of existing members are eligible to join! Eligible family members include the following:
- Immediate Family: Spouses, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren.
- Step-Relationships: Stepparents, stepchildren, and stepsiblings.
- Adoptive Relationships: Adopted children and adoptive parents.
We urge our existing members to pass on the value of membership by inviting your family members to join. The credit union offers tremendous value and you never know when your family members will need the credit union's services!
This extension of membership to family members creates a "generational" benefit. As an example, if a grandchild of an existing member joins, once that grandchild has a family of their own those family member will be eligible to join. The credit union has many "generational" families in its membership who have benefited from decades of credit union value. Have you passed on your membership value?
