System Upgrade

What’s Happening?

The credit union is upgrading our technology platforms to ensure that we continue to deliver a safe and feature-filled banking experience to our valued members!

When Will These Changes Occur?

The new systems will go into effect on April 1, but members will start being impacted on March 27 while the upgrades are underway. Here’s what will happen and when:

March 27

  • Bill Pay (in mobile or online banking) will be unavailable starting on or around 11:00 PM on March 27.

March 28

  • Debit Cards will have limited transaction capability starting around 7:00 PM on March 28.

March 29

  • Online and Mobile Banking will be unavailable starting on or around 9:00 AM on March 29.

  • Telephone Teller will be unavailable starting on or around 4:00 PM on March 29.

April 1

  • Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, Telephone Teller and Debit Cards will come back online throughout the day of April 1. Our website will update you with a more precise time when these services will resume on April 1.

What Should Members Do to Prepare for the Upgrade?

Bill Pay Users

Given that Bill Pay will be unavailable starting at 11:00 pm on March 27 until it resumes sometime on April 1, members should schedule any bill payments prior to March 27 to avoid nonpayment.

Check Images

Your transaction history will be available on the new system, however prior cleared check images will not. If for some reason you require check images of recently cleared checks, please download them in advance. However, do remember that the credit union can retrieve any check image upon request.

Scheduled Transfers

Any scheduled transfers between Merck Employees FCU accounts and other Merck Employees FCU accounts, will need to be set up in the new online banking system. For example, if you previously set up a recurring transfer from your checking account to your savings account for $100 each week, you will need to reestablish this transfer in the new system. This is also the same for any scheduled transfers that you may have created to send funds to another MEFCU member's account. For example, if you set up a recurring transfer from your savings account to your spouse's savings account for $100 each week, that would need to be reestablished as well.

Credit Card Payments

Your credit card can now be paid through the credit union's online or mobile banking. If you wish to pay using a financial institution other than Merck Employees FCU, please contact us and we can assist with your payment. Any automatic payments previously in place, will remain in place post the system changes. At anytime if you need to change or cancel you automatic payment, please contact us.

What Will Members Notice on First Log-In?

Members who access Online Banking for the first time after the upgrades will log in with their existing Online Banking credentials, but will be prompted to change their password. Onscreen prompts will guide users through verification and initial login.

Telephone Teller users will be prompted to create a new PIN upon initial log-in.

Is the Mobile App Changing?

Yes. Members will have to download a new mobile app. Delete the old app from your device(s) and download the new apps from the links below.

Please use the below links to download the mobile app on your device:

Will my account numbers or the credit union's routing number change?

NO. Your account number(s) and the credit union routing number will not change as part of this upgrade. Nothing needs to be updated or changed with any companies or other financial institutions that send or receive money from your Merck EFCU account(s).

I have several bills that are paid directly from my Merck EFCU account when due. What will happen with those payments?

All payments will process as usual from your Merck EFCU account during the conversion period.

My credit union loan payment is taken from my account at the end of each month. Will that come out sooner?

Most of the credit union's loans are all due on the last business day of the month. Those payments will be made on March 29 as usual.

Thank Your For your Patience!
